On Monday, July 13, 2026, at approximately 7:35 a.m., firefighters from Charles, Calvert and St. Mary’s County were dispatched to the 16000 block of Prince Frederick Road in Hughesville, for the reported shipping container on fire.
The 911 caller reported a shipping container with car parts and motors inside was on fire.
Crews arrived on the scene and confirmed a single shipping container fully engulfed with no extensions or threats to other property.
Firefighters extinguished the fire within 10 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
Units operated on the scene for approximately 45 minutes before returning to service.
