Raliyah Denejae Alexus Tyler, 28, of Lexington Park, was charged with failing to obey a reasonable and lawful order and disorderly conduct after authorities said she attempted to enter a vehicle connected to a stabbing investigation outside a Solomons restaurant.

A Calvert County Sheriff’s Office deputy reported being near the Pier Restaurant on Solomons Island Road at approximately 10:20 p.m. on July 5, 2026, while assisting with the investigation of a stabbing that had occurred earlier that night.

The deputy described her as a bystander and said her vehicle was considered of interest to the investigation.

At approximately 10:24 p.m., a detective instructed Tyler “not to enter her vehicle,” according to the deputy’s account. The deputy wrote that Tyler “ignored Det. McDowell’s order and continued to attempt to enter the vehicle.”

Authorities said Tyler was placed in handcuffs and “became disorderly until effective de-escalation was utilized.” The arresting deputy then placed her in the prisoner compartment of a marked police vehicle and transported her to the Calvert County Detention Center “without further incident.”

The failure-to-obey charge alleges that Tyler deliberately disregarded a reasonable and lawful police order by trying to enter a vehicle that was part of an investigation intended to prevent a disturbance of the public peace. The disorderly conduct charge alleges that she acted in a manner that disturbed the public peace.

Both charges are misdemeanors. Each carries a maximum possible penalty of 60 days in jail, a fine of up to $500, or both.

Tyler appeared before a judicial officer early July 6, 2026, and waived an attorney for that initial appearance. She was released on her own recognizance without having to post money. Her release conditions require her to avoid criminal activity and appear in court when directed.

A court date is scheduled for 1 p.m. on August 5, 2026, in Courtroom 2 at the Calvert District Court in Prince Frederick.
