Robert “Rob” Alan Minnich, 69, of Pomfret, MD, passed away on July 14, 2026. On February 12, 1957, Rob was born in Cuyahoga, OH, to the late Robert and Jean Minnich.
For over 40 years, Rob was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers and worked his way through the ranks of the organization to Assistant General Secretary. Throughout his career, he was known for his unwavering dedication and meticulous attention to detail, contributing significantly to the organization’s success.
On May 24, 1980, Rob married the love of his life, Becky Jo. They were blessed with two sons, Robbie Paul Minnich (Erica) of Flower Mound, TX, and Ryan Alan Minnich (Mary Joelle) of Bowie, MD. Rob was blessed with two wonderful grandchildren, Deacon and Blair Minnich.
Rob was first and foremost a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His greatest accomplishment and deepest joy in life was the family he built with his beloved wife, Becky Jo Minnich (Wright). Together they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, adventure, and unwavering partnership that inspired everyone who knew them.
He was an extraordinary father to his two sons, Robbie and Ryan. His boys were his pride and joy, and he never missed an opportunity to encourage them, teach them, laugh with them, or remind them how much he loved them. His legacy of integrity, hard work, kindness, and adventure will live on through them.
To know Rob was to know someone who embraced life with enthusiasm. He believed every day held the promise of a new adventure. Whether he was traveling to a new destination with his family, exploring beneath the surface while scuba diving, hunting in the woods on the family farm, casting a fishing line, or simply enjoying the peace and beauty of nature, he found joy in every experience. He taught those around him to appreciate the outdoors, seek adventure, and never stop making memories.
Rob was born and raised in Rocky River, Ohio, where he developed the values of family, loyalty, and hard work that defined his entire life. He is survived by his beloved wife, sons, brother David Minnich (Cindy) of Holland, MI, his beloved grandchildren Deacon Minnich and Blair Minnich, and his Golden Retrievers Casey and Charlie, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Rob is also survived by his mother-in-law, Doris Wright; sister-in-law, Sherry Wright; brother-in-law, Bill Wright; his best friend, Greg Stone; and special friends Tom and Teresa Emmart. Rob is preceded by his parents, Robert and Jean Minnich, father-in-law Paul Wright, sister-in-law Cindy Woodward, and his beloved service dogs Chloe and Chase Minnich.
A celebration of life will be held on September 5, 2026, 12:00 – 4:00 pm at The Woods Restaurant and Lounge, 21919 Center Ridge Rd, Rocky River, OH 44116. Dress attire is your favorite fishing or Hawaiian shirt.
