Cody Weber, 47, of Lexington Park, is charged with two misdemeanor counts of second-degree assault following an alleged domestic disturbance that left two people with injuries at a home in Lexington Park.
A St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to the residence on July 17, 2026, for a reported domestic assault. An adult female victim, and an adult male victim told the deputy that Weber had assaulted them.
The woman said Weber had been drinking and “tends to become aggressive and belligerent when intoxicated.” She reported that the two had argued earlier in the day about several relationship issues and that the disagreement continued inside an outdoor shed.
According to the allegations, Weber threw a mug filled with beer at the woman. She said she did not know the mug’s size or type but knew it was full because it struck her in the back of the head before the beer spilled over her.
The woman told the deputy that she had a painful knot on the back of her head. The deputy reported seeing and feeling swelling that appeared consistent with her account. Weber later admitted throwing the mug but claimed he had acted in self-defense, according to the filings.
The adult male victim, who also lived at the residence, said there had been numerous arguments and tense moments involving Weber, the woman and other occupants. He reported that Weber left the property but later returned, broke a lock and entered the home, where he allegedly began causing another disturbance.
The man said he went to the rear door while Weber was outside and the two argued through a patio door containing a small glass window. He reported that Weber swung a punch toward him through the glass, causing it to shatter.
Broken glass allegedly struck the man in the face. The responding deputy reported seeing several scratches and dried blood on his face. The man said those injuries occurred when Weber punched through the window and the shattered glass hit him.
Weber suffered a cut to his right arm while punching the glass and required treatment at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital, the deputy reported. Another resident allegedly confirmed that Weber had been acting belligerently. Weber admitted punching the glass but did not admit that he had been trying to strike the male victim.
After receiving medical care, Weber was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center and charged with both assault counts.
At an initial appearance on July 18, 2026, Weber waived an attorney for that proceeding and was ordered held without bond after a judicial officer found a reasonable likelihood that he posed a danger to an alleged victim, another person or the community.
Initial conditions included orders that Weber not intimidate either victim, abstain from alcohol and the unlawful use or possession of controlled substances, and have no unlawful contact with the victims.
Following a July 20, 2026, bail review, Weber was released on his own recognizance. A public defender entered an appearance on his behalf on July 22, 2026.
