James Edward “Butch” Bush, 78 of Leonardtown, MD, entered into eternal life on March 5, 2017. Butch, as he was affectionately known, was born in Budds Creek, MD to the late Arthur and Julia Bush on March 4, 1939. Butch attended Budds Creek Elementary and later went on to graduate from Banneker High School. After high school, he became a farmer. He had the knowledge of working the farmland all of his life. Butch could tell you everything about what you could do, if you had a farm.
Later in life, he met the love of his life, Mary Agnes Butler. If you saw one, you saw the other. These two were inseparable and they were known to cook up a big Sunday Dinner and hit the highway all day long. If you rode with them, be prepared to pack a lunch because you weren’t going back home anytime soon. Butch enjoyed crabbing and playing bingo. On occasion you could catch him sneaking a snack or two when no one was looking. Butch also had a title that few knew about, “Driver Education Teacher” for the family.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved Mary Agnes; brother, Arthur Bush; sister, Agnes Bush and grandson, George Butler, Jr.
Butch leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Jennifer (Tyrai) and Julia (Keith); one son, George, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Carlene; one sister, Catherine Holton (Frederick); brothers, Thomas Bush (Pat) and William Bush (Ann); four grandchildren, Shameka, Serenity, Joseph and William; three brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law, and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends will unite on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 for visitation at 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 28297 Old Village Road, Mechanicsville, MD 20659. Interment to follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD 20650
