Maryland State Police, Crash Investigation in Prince George’s County

The Maryland State Police, College Park Barrack continue to investigate a tractor trailer collision that occurred in Prince George’s County . On , the Barrack received a call in reference to a two vehicle collision involving an overturned tractor trailer on westbound I-495 at Riggs Road in College Park.

Preliminary investigation revealed a tractor trailer overturned on a Dodge Ram pickup truck after they collided while traveling on the Beltway. After the collision, the tractor trailer struck a concrete bridge support to the bridge for Riggs Road. The driver of the tractor trailer was Dewinderpal Thind, 22, French Camp, CA and the passenger was Gurpreet Singh, 25, Turlock, CA. The driver of the Dodge was Daniel Warren, 26, Starr, SC and the passenger was Mary-Kathleen Clark, 30, Semmes, AL.

All four were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The State Highway Administration responded to the scene for traffic control. Troopers at the scene observed the tractor was leaking fuel and a Prince George’s County Fire Hazmat unit responded for the removal of the fuel. The Maryland State Police, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division responded to the scene to assist with the accident investigation. A bride inspector also responded to inspect the bridge which revealed no structural damage. Three lanes were closed during this investigation for approximately two hours.
