Edith Louise Lambert, 93, of Mechanicsville, Maryland, died on June 23, 2017 at St. Mary’s Nursing Center, Leonardtown, MD. Born on November 16, 1923 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Higgs and the late Rose Grace Higgs.
Edith’s prior profession in life before retirement was a bookkeeper at Suburban Trust. She was a woman of faith. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, doing ceramics, baking and cooking. But most of all she loved to spend time with her family. Family was everything to her. She would do anything for anyone and never expected anything in return. Whether it be taking care of her husband during his illness, slaving over a hot stove to make the BEST holiday meals, taking all three of her grandchildren to take their driver’s license tests or being their sponsors for their confirmation, she did it all. She was nothing but perfection!
Edith is survived by her sons, David R. Lambert, Sr. of Mechanicsville, MD and Daniel E. Lambert of Dallas, TX. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Amy Lambert, Angela Pomerleau (Buster) and David Lambert, Jr. and her three great grandsons: Devin Lambert, Dylan Pomerleau and Brett Pomerleau. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Clyde Lambert, Jr., whom she was married to for 53 years until his death on July 28, 2000; her son Donald A. Lambert, her brothers, Sammy Higgs, Albert Higgs, Billy Higgs and her sister, Sue Higgs.
Family will greet friends on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 6-8PM with Prayers recited at 7PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
