Kristopher Brenton “Kris” Gray, 30 of Leonardtown, MD passed away after a tragic accident on August 7, 2017.
Kris was born on March 10, 1987 in Clinton, MD to Glenn Benedict Gray of Hollywood, MD and Wendy Lee Tippett of Leonardtown, MD.
Kris was employed as a carpenter in home improvement. He was skilled with his hands. He was a family man, and especially loved being with Krysta and his daughters, who were his greatest pride and joy. For over a year, he has been living with and taking care of his grandfather. His hobbies included spending time on the water fishing, shooting targets, and playing cards. He enjoyed watching sports, especially basketball and football, always cheering on the Baltimore Ravens.
In addition to his parents, Kris is also survived by his life love, Krysta Lynn Cheek, and his daughters, Skylar Leighann and Kaylee Mae, of California, MD; his siblings, Kevin Gray (Elizabeth) of Mechanicsville, MD and Kimberly Gray Johnson (Brandon) of Leonardtown, MD; his step-mother, Victoria Gray of Hollywood, MD; step-father, Thomas Tippett of Leonardtown, MD; step-brothers, Joseph Goldsmith and Steven Goldsmith, both of Hollywood, MD; his grandparents: Benedict and Dorothy Gray of Hollywood, MD, Eve and Richard Aldridge of Waldorf, MD; Joseph Lawrence Higgs, Sr. of Leonardtown, MD and Thomas and Margaret Tippett of Leonardtown, MD; his nieces and nephews: Olivia and Colton Johnson, and Isabella and Ben Gray; and many extended family and friends.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., with prayers recited by Deacon Charles Peissner at 4:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. A Funeral Service will be celebrated by Pastor James Wickham on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens in Leonardtown, MD.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Gray, Brandon Johnson, Joseph Higgs, Jr., Joseph Higgs III, David Adams, and Joe Goldsmith. Honorary pallbearers will be Colton Johnson and Greg Perez.
