Rachel R. Wills, 83, of Indian Head, MD, transitioned peacefully from her earthly life on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredricksburg, VA. She was born on May 29, 1934, in Welcome, MD, to the late Deacon Yellie Y. Warren and Deaconess Laura Ross Warren. Rachel was truly a woman of God and Matriarch of her family. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, King George County, VA. She was also a retired Nursing Assistant at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, Case Worker at Charles County Department of Social Services and Substitute Teacher for the Charles County Public Schools System.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph R. Wills; siblings: James Sr., Aljuren, Irene, Laura, Roland, Martha, Mary, Yancey, Christene; and son-in-law, James Kilroy Queen.
Rachel leaves to cherish her memories, her children: Wendy Queen; Mary Thompson (Larry); Sheron Bowman (Rufus); Allex Wills (Joan); her daughter-in Christ, Carolyn White; grandchildren: James Jr., Kydese, Tonya, Anton, Tamara, Amber, Allex Jr. (AJ); great grandchildren: Kavina, Nyah, Anaijah, Demetri, Mijaeya, Kyli, Kydese Jr., Kamijah, Kory, Mia, Amari, Angel, Jayden, Christopher James, Jordynn, Joshua; siblings: Nathaniel (Annie) Warren; Madeline (Warren) Johnson; sisters-in-law: Betty Jean Wills (also her niece); Viola C. Wills; Louise Smallwood; Doris Cole (Lloyd); Alice “Sis” Wills; Mary “Dolly” Lancaster; granddaughter-in-law, Kelly Queen; brother-in-law, Russell Savoy; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Family and friends will unite on Monday, October 16, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service, 11 a.m., at Greater Spiritual Fellowship Community Church, 106 Ellerbe Dr., Indian Head, MD. Interment immediately following at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.
