Dr. Bruce Alan Pregger, 61, of Drayden, MD, died November 6, 2017 at his home.
Bruce was born on September 2, 1956 in Trenton, NJ to Fred Pregger of Whiting, NJ and the late Betty M. Pregger.
In 1974 Bruce graduated from Hopewell Valley Central High School in Pennington, NJ. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Trenton State College. He continued his education at the University of Delaware earning his Ph. D in Applied Sciences – Materials and Metallurgy in 1986. He was employed for many years as a dedicated Materials Engineer with the Department of Defense at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. He was currently serving as Lead Failure Analyst for Aircraft and Engine Programs for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division.
Bruce was a worldwide traveler, but especially enjoyed visiting Japan, taking several trips a year. He studied their culture, language, and food. He was particularly interested in Japanese animation and comics and wrote about them for an online magazine. Bruce was also an avid collector of American and Japanese antiques.
In addition to his father, Fred, Bruce is also survived by his brother, Brian Pregger and his wife, Heather of Fort Worth, TX and many extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Pregger.
