Tri-County Animal Shelter Announces February Promotions

January 25, 2018

The Tri-County Animal Shelter is pleased to announce the following February monthly promotions and reminders:

Spay/Neuter Awareness Month (Thursday, Feb. 1- Wednesday, Feb. 28)
To celebrate this special month, the shelter is reducing the adoption fee for all shelter felines to $20.18. All felines adopted during this special promotion will receive the same great incentives of a regular adoption including spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, veterinary physical exam, deworming, FIV/FELV test, and microchip. Come adopt a fabulous feline today!

Are you income-disadvantaged and own pets? You may qualify for free altering of pets. Call Paw Prints Animal Hospital at 301-885-0263 or Humane Society of Charles County at 301-645-8181 for more details.

Dog Training Education Month (Thursday, Feb. 1- Wednesday, Feb. 28)
Training has been shown to be the single most important factor in keeping a dog in his or her forever home and strengthens the bond between owner and pet. S & D K-9 Rehabilitation and Think Like a Dog both offer a free training session for dogs adopted from the Tri-County Animal Shelter. You can also inquire about additional training at your local PetSmart or Petco. Celebrate the month by signing up your furry friend.

Love Your Pet Day (Tuesday, Feb. 20)
Share some extra love and consider adopting a pet of your own or signing up as a volunteer at the shelter. Take a dog for a walk, brush some cats, or give out treats. You can also support the shelter by coming to the Prince Frederick IHOP (680 North Prince Frederick Boulevard, Prince Frederick) on Feb. 20 and enjoy a nice meal. IHOP will donate a portion of the proceeds to the shelter if you mention Tri-County Animal Shelter to your server.

The Tri-County Animal Shelter is located at 6707 Animal Shelter Road in Hughesville. Shelter staff can be reached at 301-932-1713 or 800-903-1992.
