Jay Robert Jordan, 68, of Harwood, MD passed peacefully on January 27, 2018 at Mandarin Hospice of the Chesapeake in Harwood, MD, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 15, 1949 in Farmington, MD to the late Russell Harwood and Sarah Margaret Newhall. He was self-employed as a roofer for over 30 dedicated years. He also worked for Wagner Roofing for an additional six years. In February 1988 he married his beloved wife, Deborah Jordan in Annapolis, MD. Together they celebrated over 29 wonderful years of marriage. His hobbies included growing bountiful vegetable gardens in which he canned most of his harvest. He was known for making delicious pickles. He was a grill master and made many delicious meals for his wife. There was nothing he couldn’t grill. He also enjoyed working on his pond, restocking it with fish and adding new plants. He was an avid Scuba Diver and often travelled with a friend to the Florida Keys to dive and to the Cayman Islands with his wife.
In addition to his wife, Jay is also survived by his daughter, Kristin Vendemia (Thomas) of Annapolis, MD; three grandchildren: Luca, Dominic and Nicolas Vendemia; and many extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, John Harwood Jordan.
