50-Year-Old Huntingtown Killed in Motor Vehicle Accident After Deer Runs into Road

January 31, 2018

The Prince George’s County Police Department Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash in Upper Marlboro Tuesday morning. The victim is 50-year-old David Diamond of Carroll Road in Huntingtown.

On January 30th, at approximately 5:40 am, patrol officers were called to the 2900 block of Ritchie Marlboro Road for the report of a collision involving three vehicles.

The preliminary investigation reveals a deer ran out into the southbound lanes of Ritchie Marlboro Road and struck the front quarter panel of a car. That car then entered the northbound lanes and collided head-on with Diamond’s car. A pickup truck then collided with Diamond’s car as well. Diamond was pronounced dead on the scene. One of the other involved drivers and his passenger both suffered what appear to be non-life threatening injuries. The third driver was not hurt.
