Evelyn Lorraine Sansbury Apperson, age 80, of Brandywine, MD, died on January 31, 2018 at Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, MD.
Evelyn was a Retired Secretary with the Prince George’s County Board of Education after 35 years of service. She was a lifetime resident of the area and a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Waldorf, MD. She loved reading, quiltmaking, and spending time at the ocean. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Daughter of the late William Raymond Sansbury and the late Lillian Evelyn Morton Sansbury. Also preceded in death by her stepfather, Larry Eaton.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her two brothers, Mort Sansbury and Billy Sansbury.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Franklin Apperson, Sr.; four sons, James F. Apperson, Jr., and his wife Deanna, John Michael Apperson, and his wife Lisa, Stephen Edward Apperson, and Donald Mitchell Apperson, and his wife Cindy; one daughter, Tina Marie Marcus, and her husband Steven; and three sisters, Jean, Donna, and Lois. She was also survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
Friends received on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 10:00am until time of Memorial Service at 11:30am at Raymond Funeral Service, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Inurnment to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 4111 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suitland, MD 20746.
