On Friday, February 9, 2018, at approximately 6:05 p.m., Deputy R. Roszell, of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Mechanicsville Burchmart/Subway, on Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville, for the report of a robbery in progress.

Before arriving to the scene police received information that an employee and three customers had a robbery suspect in custody.

When police entered the store, they located Kottie Deon Fauntroy, 35, of Washington DC, on the ground behind the counter with one employee, and three customers holding him down so he could not leave the store

The assistant manager, and female victim, told police the defendant was standing by the subway counter waiting in line, when he came behind the counter and pushed another employee, the male victim, who was in the lottery register getting change for a customer. Fauntroy started grabbing money from the register when the male employee told the defendant to stop and attempted to pull him away from the register. The assistant manager yelled for help and Fauntroy pushed her back. One customer came behind the counter and grabbed Fauntroy from behind and brought him to the ground. Two other customers then assisted in detaining Fauntroy.

The customers advised that while the Fauntroy was on the ground he kept saying ‘just let me go, just let me go’ and continued to struggle until police arrived. The assistant manager was able to recover the money taken out of the register which was located on the floor and amounted to $260.00.

The male employee told police, he was at the lottery cash register getting change for a customer when he was pushed from behind, he said at first he thought it was another employee playing around and did not turn around. However, once he heard the assistant manager telling the robber to stop, he realized what was happening.

Fauntroy stated he does not know what happened, that he blacked out, he stated he does not know how he got there but believes he was on foot. Fauntroy also told police he was high and took PCP earlier that day and had been drinking as well.

Fauntroy was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center, where he was charged with robbery, theft and two counts of assault.

Fauntroy has a long criminal record and has the following arrests (in the past 10 years) in Maryland:

  • Prince George’s County in January of 2017, for possession of PCP/LSD with intent to distribute.
  • Prince George’s County in May of 2016, for 3 counts of assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
  • Prince George’s County in July of 2011 for robbery, assault and theft.
  • Prince George’s County in June of 2011 for disorderly conduct.
  • Prince George’s County in December of 2009 for theft.
  • Charles County in July of 2008 for 2 counts of theft.
  • Prince George’s County in June of 2008 for assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
  • Calvert County in February of 2008 for attempted theft.
  • Before 2008 Fauntroy had multiple arrests including 2 separate incidents of armed robbery

What? No “I can’t breath” nonsense? I bet the local BLM idiots will accuse the store of being racist. Kottie D will be portrayed as a victim and a misunderstood hero.

  3. Ted Nugent on February 13, 2018 at 9:29 am

Freakin’ turd. Too bad the employees and citizens didn’t beat this loser to a pulp and put him out of business. Since this is MD though, Steny Hoyer will probably have him at his acceptance speech.

      Exactly!

  4. Kottie is a pathetic POS on February 13, 2018 at 9:31 am

Wait for it, how long until we get the lame “dont judge him, blah blah, hes just trying to survive, blah blah, you dont know this mans struggles, blah blah.”

I honestly dont give a sh*t about his (self imposed) struggles. Did this man graduate from high school or did he drop out cuz he was too cool for school? Did he go to college or join the military after high school, on his journey toward a career? Or was he slanging dope to fund his rap career only to find out that no one wanted to hear his music?

Its 2018. Dont give me white privilege excuses. Every person in this country has access to education. Admittedly not all school systems are equal, and thats a problem, but a diploma from the ghetto is just as good as the diploma those “white privilege” kids have. Once you get that diploma, you can go to college, OR, get this, you can join the military. Equal opportunity does not mean equal results, time for the liberals to get that through their heads. I always hear about how hard life is. And thats true, nothing is easy, you have to work for it. But what doesnt compute for me is that white people say, life is hard so you have to put in the work to get ahead, meanwhile, black people apparently believe life is hard, so you gotta commit crime to get ahead… What?!?!?!? 2 armed robberies by the time he was 25 years old? Give me a break, this dude is just an awful person, that makes bad choices, and wants the easy way out. Just look at this story. He tried to steal $260. He would have to work for a week to make that money, or he could stroll into subway and in 5 minutes steal it… I’m sure its all the systems fault. The system has made him a career criminal. I’m certain if you trace it back, it is going to come back to this meathead choosing a life of crime as a last resort because of the consequences of his poor decisions, and now he needs society to bail him out

I love how you group all black people together. There are so many hard working black folks in this community, but yet anytime there is a pos criminal posted on here, you racist come out with oh black people this black people that like we all the same. A white pos criminal posted and comments on him as a person but not white people in general. That sir is what makes you a racist. Not what you say. There are bad in every race.

      • Kottie is a pathetic POS on February 14, 2018 at 8:42 am

There is a difference between being racist and spitting truth. The statistics dont lie. Black people are 13% of the population and manage to commit 48% of all crimes. Why is it racist to acknowledge that? The black community needs to fix themselves. That is why they are grouped together. The majority of black people are good people, but they are the ones that have to fix their community. When white people try to help, all we hear is “you didnt grow up like me, you dont know whats like it, blah blah blah”. That translates to “butt out and mind your business”. Thats fine. In other words, if white people mind their business, who is left to fix the problem? Cuz the black community is really good at “raising awareness”, and really good at telling us all what the problem is, and really good at blaming white people, but they are really bad at taking action.

        • Anonymous on February 14, 2018 at 3:30 pm

Even if you had a couple valid points, it is shrewd with your Blanton racism. You group all white people together, and all black people. There is good and bad in all races. There should only be o e race. Human. But with people like you we will never get there. God bless you and heal your heart

Video – or it didn’t happen!! Lets make public execution a thing… It’s a great deterrent.

  6. Anonymous on February 13, 2018 at 10:26 am

The victims should have beat him until he learns not to do this stuff again. These Maryland judges are going to get someone killed with their wimpy sentences. Innocent peoples blood will be on their hands if they continue to release trash like him. We need to enact a law that would make judges accountable for the continuous release of violent offenders like this guy. Maybe restitution to the victims that they helped crate due to their indifference to public safety and willingness to enable these career criminals.

    • Joe on February 14, 2018 at 10:52 am

“Going” to get someone killed? WTF you think has been going on in the People Republic of Maryland. The system has been permitting this for decades with lenient, liberal sentencing. Wake up.
What you’re missing is that if this had been resolved with a baseball bat, it would have been much better. But as you say, Nancy Pelosi’s bitch, Steny, would be supporting the victim/criminal

      • Do it on February 15, 2018 at 12:47 pm

  7. Localboy on February 13, 2018 at 11:03 am

We’ll good for them, I’m glad everyone stuck together to stop him. Sad thing is he is just going to get out & do it again.

  9. Rob Stark on February 13, 2018 at 11:07 am

And once again, the question should be asked, Why isn’t this POS in jail?

Thank you so much for the failure of the criminal justice system in Maryland!

    • Kottie is a pathetic POS on February 14, 2018 at 8:45 am

It is considered “racist” to hold this man accountable for his actions, thats the why he isnt in jail.

  11. cheywolf on February 13, 2018 at 2:36 pm

These judges who keep letting career criminals out want a $35,000/yr raise. So let that sink in. More of our tax dollars going to judges who don’t care about the well being of law abiding citizens.

    • beijorne on February 13, 2018 at 7:35 pm

  12. logic on February 13, 2018 at 3:44 pm

If you don’t remember how you got some place or don’t remember what happened are you truly guilty of you’re actions

    • Jorge Lopes on February 14, 2018 at 8:54 am

If these morons would put their mind to good instead of crime we’d all be better off. The innovation just to commit crime is astounding. Remember when people used to curve the rim of their hat, and get them broken in just right to fit their head? People dont do that anymore, now they leave the tags on them, leave the stickers on them, and leave them with that brand new, flat rim. Why you ask? So that you cant tell if its stolen or not. Genius. And the excuses when talking to the cops, these are the crown jewels of the criminal mind. Run from the cops, and your excuse is “I was afraid you were going to shoot me”. Brilliant. Now all criminals run, and ditch their drugs or stolen merchandise or whatever while they are running, and then when they have gotten rid of it all, they then get caught and say they were scared. Classic. Or in this guys case, he becomes a guy who doesnt know where he is, doesnt know how he got there, and doesnt know what he did for the last 45 minutes. Brilliant.

    • Kathy Griffin on February 14, 2018 at 9:05 am

If you lie about everything and then try to blame your actions on drugs and booze, will any reasonable person believe you?

    • Ted Nugent on February 14, 2018 at 9:24 am

I agree. Let’s let this career criminal go. We don’t know the whole story and he is probably a good guy trying to get his life back together. I bet if that was your son or daughter working in that store you’d feel different. Enabler.

  13. Parent on February 13, 2018 at 5:00 pm

If you need money because you’re hungry and want more drugs, and push the cashier out of the way to get money, are you truly stealing?

    • Ted Nugent on February 14, 2018 at 9:25 am

Nope. You are robbing that person and business. Thanks for pointing that out.

This man belongs in a hospital, not jail

    • Kathy Griffin on February 14, 2018 at 9:06 am

      Why?

    • Anonymous on February 14, 2018 at 12:02 pm

So his victims don’t matter because he decided to do a drug (PCP)that makes him psychotic? Sorry but he is dangerous and belongs in prison for a long time. I don’t want my tax money going to worthless rehab for the problems he created for himself. There is a 90% chance he would be right back on PCP less then 2 weeks after treatment. Rehab is only 90 days and this danger to society needs to be locked away for decades not months. At least then he would not be able to create any new victims for the foreseeable future.

This is one totally worthless POS.
He will do evil continually because no one is committed to stopping it.
The record of his behavior should embarrass the entire judicial system.
Kudos to those brave employees who stood up to say, “Not here you don’t”.
Beat this black bastard within an inch of his life and give him a 10 year sentence. I don’t mean serve half and wink either – 10 years in Jessup. Then see if he has any desire to act like a human being and take up a useful place in society.
