On Sunday, February 11 at approximately 9:3o p.m., officers from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Dollar General on Crain Highway, in Waldorf, for the report of an armed robbery.

Cpl. S. Stanley was in the area and quickly responded. He stopped a car near the store and located three males inside.

Police could see cash inside the vehicle, and Harold Leonard Turley, 21, of Brandywine, immediately said that he had a BB Gun in his pant leg. Turley was wearing a white jacket and had a heart shaped tattoo on his right hand.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Richard Marc Reginald Jackson and the front seat passenger was identified as Malik Anthony Turley.

Police made contact with the employee who advised that she was standing at the first register in the store when the suspect walked inside, and was wandered around the store and eventually came up to her register asking to exchange dollar bills. She provided him with (5) $1.00 bills in exchange for a $5.00 bill. He then gave her (10) $1.00 bills and asked for a $10.00 bill. The suspect then stated “matter of fact, give me the whole register.” The suspect then pulled up his jacket and revealed what she believed to be a black handgun that was tucked in the front of his waistband, she then placed the entire cash drawer on the counter and the suspect took it and walked out. The employee described the suspect as a black male, wearing a white jacket, and described a heart shaped tattoo on his right hand. The description she provided matched defendant Harold Turley.

All three defendants were transported to the Charles County District III Station and were interviewed by Detectives. After Harold Turley admitted his involvement in the robbery, he was transported to the Charles county Detention Center and charged with armed robbery, assault, theft and reckless endangerment.
