UPDATE: On February 17 at 8:54 p.m., officers from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office and Troopers from the Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack responded to the 12100 block of Ell Lane in Waldorf for the report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. The victim, identified as Brandon Andrew Briscoe, 24, of Waldorf, was transported to a hospital where he subsequently died.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division responded to assume the investigation.
Preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown suspect approached Briscoe while he was standing outside of an apartment building. The suspect shot Briscoe several times, and then he fled on foot.

2/17/2017: On Saturday, February 17, 2018 at approximately 8:55 p.m., Deputies from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office and Troopers from the Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack responded to 12157 Ell Lane, in Waldorf for the report of a shooting.
Police arrived on scene to find a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Witnesses reported hearing multiple shots fired, and then a silver Range Rover leaving the scene. Police described the driver of the Range Rover as a black male in his twenties.
The victim was shot in the chest and having agonal breathing, they were transported to Charles Regional Medical Center by ambulance.
Police were out at the same area of the shooting earlier in the evening.
