Convicted Three Time Armed Robber Does it Again and Again
On February 11, 2018 at approximately 7:15 p.m., an unknown black male entered the Subway located at 3023 Festival Way, in Waldorf. The male was wearing a black jacket, black mask, black gloves, black pants, and black shoes armed with a handgun. The male demanded money and pointed the handgun at the cashier. Fearing for his life, the victim provided the male with the register draw. The male placed the gun in his pocket and took approximately $156.00.
On February 16, 2918 at approximately 6:30 p.m., an unknown black male entered the Subway located at 158 Smallwood Village Center, in Waldorf. The male was wearing a black jacket, light colored pants, black shoes, and armed with a handgun. The male demanded money and the cashier. the victim was in fear of her life and provided the male with the register draw. The male placed the gun in his pocket and took approximately $312.00.
On February 18, 2918 at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to Subway located at 2112 Crain Highway, Waldorf, Charles County, Maryland for the report of an armed robbery. Upon officer’s arrival they found an unknown black male entered the business wearing light colored pants, black shoes, black jacket. and armed with a handgun. The male demanded money. The victim fearing for his life provided the male with approximately $299.00 from the cash register.
Officers familiar with the other robberies and the description of the vehicle during the robbery on February 16, 2818, began searching the area for the black Toyota with dark tinted windows and black wheels.
Officer Foster located the vehicle in the area of La Plata Road and Fairfield Place, in La Plata.
Officer Foster conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Otis Scorpio Williams, 33, of Lexington Park.
Officer Foster, observed a black jacket in plain view on the back seat of the vehicle.
Police executed a search warrant of Williams vehicle and his person. During the search of the vehicle police recovered $201 in united States currency, a black hooded jacket, a black mask, a pair of black gloves, and a BB handgun. The BB handgun was weighted and appears to be a replica handgun.
Williams was charged with 3 counts each of armed robbery, robbery, first degree assault and theft
Williams is currently on parole for three armed robberies he was convicted of in 2007, in St. Mary’s County.
On April 14, 2007 at approximately 10:14 p.m. a suspect entered the Callaway Shell in Callaway Maryland. He displayed a handgun and demanded money from the store clerk. The clerk chased the suspect from the store and he fled on foot.
Detectives from St. Mary’s County BCI responded and pursuant to their investigation located Otis Scorpio Williams, 22, from Lexington Park, at a residence in Piney Point Maryland. He was taken into custody and charged with three counts of Armed Robbery for the Callaway Shell robbery, the April 12th robbery of the Esperanza Shell in Lexington Park, and the April 4th robbery of the Pegg’s Road Shell in Lexington Park.
