Dr. Timothy J. Cunningham, 35, of Atlanta’s Bolton neighborhood, is a team lead with CDC’s Division of Population Health, and has been missing since February 12, according to Atlanta police. His family and police desperate for answers regarding his sudden disappearance.
Cunningham, a researcher who studies disease patterns was not feeling well on February 12th, and colleagues said he left work early, and said he was going to finish his work from home. That was the last time anyone saw him.
Cunningham’s father, Terrell, and mother drove all night from their home in Waldorf, to Atlanta, arriving on February 14th. Inside their son’s home they discovered Cunningham’s unattended dog and their Timothy’s wallet, cellphone and driver’s license. His car was also in the garage.
The Atlanta Police Department said it was still unable to locate Cunningham after learning about his disappearance on Feb. 16, and was depending on public awareness to help draw leads.
The CDC said Cunningham was a “highly respected member of our CDC family,”
Family said there’s a sort of family rule to be in touch with one family member at all times. Usually, that’s Cunningham’s sister. She said the last time they spoke was Monday, then nothing. To not hear from him for this long, family said, is very out of the ordinary.
“He didn’t respond to any calls, and that in itself had us wondering, “Is he OK?’,” Cunningham’s father questioned.
Timothy Cunningham is described as about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 230 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information on his location is asked to call 911 or Atlanta’s Adult Missing Persons Unit at 404-546-4235 immediately. Family members believe he could be in his work uniform but they aren’t sure.
