VIDEO: Lexington Park Man Arrested After Crashing SUV While Running From Police

On Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at approximately 8:00 p.m., Corporal James Stone, from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, observed a black Ford Expedition traveling southbound on Three Notch Road in the area of Park Hall Road at a speed of 75 mph in a 50 mph zone.

Stone turned around on the vehicle and accelerated to catch up however the operator of the vehicle accelerated and passed two cars unsafely on the left side of the roadway while travelling southbound in the northbound lane. The vehicle made an abrupt U-turn at the intersection of Three Notch Road and Evergreen Park Road and traveled northbound on Three Notch Road passing several other vehicles on the left-hand side. The operator then attempted to make a left turn onto Park Hall Road, when he lost control of his vehicle over corrected his steering and left the roadway striking a utility pole and crashing into various trees and shrubbery.

The operator of the vehicle was apprehended immediately after the accident occurred. While exiting the vehicle the driver shouted he was sorry and wasn’t trying to stop because he had a suspended driver’s license.

The driver was was identified as George DeWayne Mulloy II, 32 of Lexington Park.

A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed an oxycodone pill and trace amounts of suspected marijuana.

Mulloy was placed under arrest and transported to St. Mary’s Hospital where he was evaluated and released with minor injuries.

Mulloy was then transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center where he was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance – not marijuana, and the following traffic violations:

  • driving vehicle on highway at speed exceeding limit
  • driving vehicle in excess of reasonable and prudent speed on highway
  • failure to control vehicle speed on hwy. to avoid collision
  • fail to display license on demand
  • driving/attempting drive motor vehicle on highway without required license and authorization
  • person driving motor vehicle on (highway or public use property) on suspended license and privilege
  • fail to display registration card on demand
  • negligent driving
  • reckless driving
  • unsafe lane changing
  • failure to drive right of center
  • following vehicle too closely
  • attempt by driver to elude uniformed police by failing to stop
