James Lee Arnold Jr., 30, and Susan Michelle Furr, 30, both of Prince Frederick
On February 23, 2018 at approximately 9:25 a.m., Deputy Parks from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported theft in progress at the Walmart in Prince Frederick.
Police were advised by the Calvert County Control Center that the suspect was described as a white male wearing a black sweatshirt, blue jeans, black baseball cap, and had a black backpack, the suspect was also with a white female.
Police made contact with, James Lee Arnold Jr., 30, of Prince Frederick, and asked him what was going on, he replied that nothing was going and that he was accused of stealing by an employee of the store.
During further investigation it was determined that both suspect would be arrested for disorderly conduct. During a search of the individual’s belongings a prescription of Amphetamine Salts where found inside of Furr’s backpack. The pills were prescribed to Furr, inside of the prescription bottle two types of pills were found. Along with Amphetamine tablets, 3 green pills were also found. After using Pill Id.com they were identified as Alprazolam. When police asked Furr if she had a prescription for Alprazolam, she advised she did not. The Alprazolam was confiscated and placed into evidence.
Also found in Furr’s bag was a brown journal, Inside the journal there were several different account and credit numbers and codes. Upon searching Arnolds backpack a needle was found inside of a cigar wrapper. When Arnold was asked what the needle was used for, he implied that he did not know it was in there and that it was not his. Also found in his backpack were a Men’s Wallet and Nest thermostat, both where in its original packaging and it was determined that it was stolen from Walmart. Both items were photographed and returned to the store manager. The needle was confiscated and placed into evidence under evidence.
Furr was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with Theft Less Than $100 and CDS: Possession-not Marijuana (Alprazolam). Arnold was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia and Theft: $100 to under $1,500.
