Prince Frederick Woman Arrested for Stealing T-Shirts from AutoZone

On February 20, 2018 Deputy Flynt, from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Weis Market, in Prince Frederick for the report of a shoplifter that had just left the store. Deputy Trigg located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the area of the AutoZone on Prince Frederick Boulevard.

Deputy Trigg made contact with the driver later identified as Belinda Walker, 59, of Prince Frederick.

The stolen merchandise from Weis was located inside of the vehicle, and Walker could not provide a receipt for the items.

Police were approached by an employee of AutoZone, located at on Prince Frederick Blvd, and advised the suspect was observed possibly taking a T-shirt from the store without paying for it. The employee advised that the shirt would have a Chevy or Dodge emblem on it, but he was not sure. During a search of the vehicle, three T-shirts were located, a grey T-shirt with a yellow Firebird emblem, a white T-shirt with the word “Dodge” on it and the , and a red shirt with the words “Dodge Hemi”.

Police advised Walker of her Miranda rights and she waived her rights and was willing to speak with them. During questioning by Dep. T. Mohler, Belinda Walker admitted to stealing the T-shirts from AutoZone. The shirts had a total of $31. 77.

Walker was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with Theft Less Than $100 and False Statement to Officer.
