Mattie Wright-Dean of Washington, DC, passed on March 15, 2018 at the age of 73.
Born in Washington, DC the only daughter of Mattie (Thompson) Fletcher and James Fletcher.
Mattie has been a Washingtonian her entire life. Born and raised there, she educated in the district schools. In 1972 she obtained a job as a program analyst with the US Department of Education and retired in 1998. She met the love of her life, Stambert Lee Dean in school and it was “love at 1st sight”. Mattie was ambitious, full of life and love and could put anyone at ease with her loving words of encouragement. She was a master at organization, especially records. She loved being in charge and loved her children and grandchildren to the very end. She enjoyed magazines, shopping and especially loved watching the “Lifetime” channel.
Mattie completed her mission on earth and transitioned to her heavenly seat. There she is reunited with family and friends – socializing and dancing. Music, laughter, and love is guaranteed. She will be missed.
