On January 29, 2020, deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 22000 block of Valley Estates Drive in Lexington Park, for the reported disturbance involving a firearm.

Police arrived on the scene and observed a two door Ford Mustang leaving the neighbor on an off-road path from Valley Estates Drive and onto Corporate Drive, the vehicle then turned right on Southbound Three Notch Road and made a u-turn to travel Northbound. Officers then observed the vehicle make a second u-turn on Three Notch Road and FDR Boulevard at which point the Officer activated his emergency equipment in his marked police vehicle and performed a vehicle stop

As the vehicle came to a stop, the operator of the vehicle could be seen reaching down to the rear of his vehicle, as if he was placing items in the back seat.  Deputies ordered the operator out of his vehicle and advised him of the situation and why he was stopped, meanwhile, Cpl. Foor advised he could see a shotgun in plain view location in the rear of the vehicle.

Defendant Delmonte Faison, age 22 of Lusby, was subsequently detained and advised of hls miranda rights as officers at the scene of the call gathered more information.

The victim advised officers he made an arrangement to sell an Xbox over the SnapChat app. The victim advised the subject making the arrangement continued to push the transaction off from noon until later in the evening.

He advised two subjects arrived at his residence in a two door car and as he was talking to the unidentified suspect at his front door about the sale, the victim noticed a red laser dot on his chest and stated the second subject, identified as Delmonte Faison, walked up to the residence wearing a red sweatshirt stated ‘yeah, I need all that shit.’

The victim then pulled the first subject in front of him and into his residence and shut the front door, he then attempted to keep the subject with him until police arrived, however, the subject was able to exit prior to police arrival.

The shotgun located in the Defendant’s vehicle is equipped with an operational laser on the fore end. As well as the defendant was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, the laser equipped on the shotgun would only be able to be on the victim’s chest if the shotgun was also pointed toward him.

Faison initially denied being in the neighborhood, however, he eventually admitted to being at the scene of the call, but stated he remained in his vehicle until the subject messaged him via SnapChat to leave and stated to take the off road path out of the neighborhood.

Faison was arrested and charged with attempted robbery.
