Charlotte Anne (Skovira) Mittan, 81 of Waldorf, MD passed away at her home on Friday, 28 August 2020. Charlotte was born 9 October 1938 in Rutland, Vermont to Andrew and Charlotte Skovira.
Upon graduation from high school she enlisted in the United States Air Force. She left for basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. She was active duty military from October 1956 to August 1959. During this time she worked at the “Green Monster” where new recruits were issued uniforms. She was responsible for totaling costs. While in Texas she met and fell in love with Clark D. Mittan. They married in 1959 and we’re married for 51 years until he passed away in 2010.
She was employed by the PG County school system from 1980 to 2012. She enjoyed working for the school system and made many friends while working there.
She enjoyed playing bingo and going on cruises with family.
She is survived by her four children, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Carol Bronson-Daughter, grandson Donald (Heather), great grandchildren Chloe and Tucker, granddaughter Carolyn. Christine Krucelyak- Daughter (Steve), grandchildren Stephen and Mary(John). Cheryl Smith-Daughter, Ralph and Emma grand dogs.
Clark Mittan-Son (Anita), granddaughters Kathryn (Kevin), Allison (Zach). Brothers Tony(Denise) and George (Charlene) In-laws-Norman Schulz, Ellis Mittan (Ila), Anita Closson (Roger). Numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to your local hospice or to an organization of your choice.
