UPDATE: St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Residence and Vehicle Struck by Gunfire in Lexington Park

October 20, 2020

UPDATE 10/20/2020: On Saturday, October 17, 2020, at approximately 2:50 a.m., police responded to the area of Columbus Drive for the report of shots fired.

Police arrived in the area and located one vehicle which was stopped with the occupants interviewed, they were let go a short time later.

While on the scene canvassing the area for any evidence of a shooting, victims, or witnesses, deputies reported hearing shots being fired at approximately 3:50 a.m., from the area of Pacific Drive and Columbia Commons.

Deputies located one vehicle and residence on Cinnamon Way that was struck by gunfire; the vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the shooting and it was determined the vehicle was struck at least three times, with the residence on Cinnamon Way struck at least five times.


The St. Mary’s County Crime Lab responded and processed the scene.

No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made. Police are investigating the incident.
10/17/2020: On Saturday, October 17, 2020, at approximately 3:00 a.m., police responded to the area of Forest Run Drive in Lexington Park, for the report of shots fired.

Police arrived on the scene of Forest Run Drive and Cinnamon Way to find a residence and vehicle struck multiple times. Police also located shell casings in multiple locations.

No injuries were reported.

Witnesses reported hearing over 15 gunshots from the area of Columbus Drive and Pacific Drive, then more gunshots from the area of Forest Run Drive.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and Crime Lab Technicians responded to the scene and are investigating the shooting.
