NAS Patuxent River Drill Hall Closed for Cleaning After Two Staff Members Test Positive for COVID-19

October 20, 2020

The Naval Air Station Patuxent River Drill Hall will be closed for cleaning from Tuesday, October 20, to Sunday, October 25, following a report that two staff members who have since tested positive for COVID were in the Drill Hall in the days prior to exhibiting symptoms.

While there is no indication that infection occurred during their shifts, the command is performing a deep cleaning of Drill Hall of spaces in an abundance of caution. The exercise, indoor pool, and Bowling Center spaces will be closed during this time.

Personnel are reminded to practice CDC- and DoD-directed COVID safety measures of wearing a face covering, frequent hand washing, and maintaining physical distancing when possible, and to stay home if they feel ill.
