UPDATE: The vehicle and the operator of the vehicle involved in the collision has been identified. Investigation determined Jakiya Annette Bowman, age 20 of Lexington Park, was driving the 2013 Nissan Altima that struck the victim and then fled the scene.
Approximately 10 minutes after the pedestrian was struck, police, fire and rescue personnel were then dispatched for a separate motor vehicle collision in the area of Shady Mile Drive and Patuxent Beach Road in California.

Bowman currently has the following charges.

- NEGLIGENT DRIVING VEHICLE IN CARELESS AND IMPRUDENT MANNER ENDANGERING PROPERTY, LIFE AND PERSON
- DRIVING TO DRIVE MOTOR VEHICLE ON HIGHWAY WITHOUT REQUIRED LICENSE AND AUTHORIZATION
UPDATE: On Sunday, November 1, 2020, at approximately 12:32 a.m. deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 22000 block of Three Notch Road, in the area of Chancellors Run Road in California, for the reported collision involving a pedestrian.
Upon arrival a male victim, later identified as Manuel Enrique Salamanca, age 18 of Lusby, was located lying in the roadway. The St. Mary’s County Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and continued the investigation.
Preliminary investigation determined Salamanca was in the pedestrian crosswalk of northbound Three Notch Road, when a black colored, four-door Nissan passenger car struck the victim and failed to remain at the scene of the accident.
The victim was transported to an area trauma center and is in stable condition. The striking vehicle sustained front-end damage from the collision.

11/02/2020: On Sunday, November 1, 2020, at approximately 12:32 a.m., police, fire and rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Three Notch Road and Maple Road in California, for the motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
Crews arrived on the scene to find an 18-year-old male laying in the middle of the intersection unconscious with multiple witnesses and Good Samaritans in the roadway stopping traffic.
Witnesses reported a black Nissan sedan struck the victim and fled the scene travelling Northbound on Three Notch Road. The vehicle was missing the front bumper and a Nissan emblem/badge that was recovered on the scene by Officers from the Roadway near the victim.
Emergency medical personnel immediately requested a helicopter which was already placed on standby. Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 7 transported the victim to an area trauma center with life-threatening injuries.
7 minutes after the rescue assignment was dispatched, police, fire and rescue personnel were dispatched for a separate motor vehicle collision in the area of Shady Mile Drive and Patuxent Beach Road in California.
Crews arrived on the scene to find a black Nissan Altima into the guardrail at the end of Shady Mile Drive, with two female occupants in the vehicle.
Both of the occupants were taken into custody by police after they refused medical care. One of the females refused field sobriety testing.
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating both collisions.
