State Fire Marshal Deems Vehicle Fire in Dunkirk Accidental, No Injuries Reported

On Sunday, November 1, 2020, at approximately 2:44 a.m., police, and firefighters responded to 2971 Cedarwood Lane in Dunkirk, for the reported vehicle fire.

Firefighters from Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the scene to find a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon fully engulfed in flames.

The owners are identified as Mark and Mehwish Fields, with the estimated loss of structure and contents valued at $25,150.00

Crews extinguished the fire in under 20 minutes.

The fire was discovered by the owner.

Investigations reviewed the fire started in the engine compartment, with the cause being deemed accidental and due to a electrical malfunction within the engine compartment.
