On Saturday, November 14, 2020, at approximately 1:35 p.m., firefighters responded to the intersection of Hodges Road and Oakley Road in Avenue, for the reported vehicle fire.
Crews arrived on the scene to find a minivan with fire showing from the engine compartment.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and turned the scene over to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office as the vehicle was in motion at the time of the fire.
Both occupants were able to safely exit the vehicle with no injuries being reported.
