Mary Elizabeth “Lizzie” Tolson, 81, of Hollywood, MD passed away on December 5, 2020 at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, MD.
She was born on September 21, 1939 in Rock Point, MD to the late Delmar Andrew Thompson and Emma Welch Thompson.
Lizzie enjoyed a good card game of PITCH, watching her soap operas, especially the Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives, and crocheting. She was a fierce tetris and Dr. Mario Nintendo competitor. She enjoyed singing the lyrics of Footloose and listening to Michael Bolton. She loved her family and spending time with them whenever she could.
She is survived by her children: Kenneth Tolson (Dawn) of LaPlata, MD, Paul Tolson (Diana) of Astor, FL, and Tammy Williams (James) of Hollywood, MD; her sisters: Edna Oaks of Suffolk, VA, Barbara Coulby (Edward) of Waldorf, MD, Jean Burks (Dennis) of LaPlata, MD, and Debbie Burcham (Phil) of Dahlgreen, VA; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her long-time companion, Richard “Bo” Bowles: her sister, Betty Williams and her granddaughter, Mariam Williams.
Family will receive friends on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a Funeral Service celebrated by Reverend Joe Orlando at 11:00 a.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens in Leonardtown, MD.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Craig Tolson, Cory Tolson, Kyle Tolson, Thomas Tolson, Michael Schaffier, and John Murgia.
