Robert “Bob” Lee Powell, 81

Robert “Bob” Lee Powell passed away on December 8th, 2020 at the Bon Secours St Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia at the age of 81.

He was born on June 22nd, 1939 in Accokeek, Maryland to the late Robert and Eva (Richardson) Powell.

As a young man, Bob met the love of his life, Patricia Marie Balderson and it didn’t take long before he knew that she was the one. They married on July 28, 1962 and spent 58 years in marital bliss. Bob was drafted in the United States Army in December, 1962. He served his country and family proud and was honorably discharged in November, 1968.  He returned home, began working and supported his family as a plumber. Bob was a hardworking man with a heart of gold and will be remember by his three (3) beautiful daughters, Tracy, Angela, and Sherry.

Bob enjoyed the great outdoors and could be found hunting, practicing archery, spending time with the family and riding his tractor. Family was everything to Bob. He was extremely proud of all of his grandchildren and took great pleasure in his great grandchildren. Bob’s legacy will be of hard work, kindness and laughter. His memory will remain in the hearts of his loved ones.

Bob is survived by his wife, Patricia Marie Powell of Dunnsville, VA; his children, Tracy Rohan of Prince Frederick, MD, Angela Stirling (Jim) of Mechanicsville, MD, and Sherry Linder (Patrick) of Prince Fredrick, MD. He is also survived by four (4) grandchildren, Shanna Digges, Taylor Wyne, Jayson Powell, and Brooke Stirling; and two (2) great-grandchildren Nathan Digges and Ezra Powell and his best buddy Bailey.  Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Eva and his brother Jackie Powell.

The family will receive friends for Bob’s Life Celebration on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 24, 2020 and officiated by Drew Stirling at Brinsfield Funeral Home, Charlotte Hall for Bob’s immediate family.  Interment will be held at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD on December 24, 2020.
