Police Investigating Hit and Run Involving Pedestrian in Waldorf, Victim Transported to Trauma Center with Serious Injuries

On Monday, December 14, 2020, at approximately 7:30 p.m., police, fire and rescue personnel responded to the area of Crain Highway and Mall Circle in Waldorf, for the motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

Crews arrived on the scene to find an adult male laying in the Southbound lanes of Crain Highway, firefighters immediately requested a helicopter for his injuries.

The striking vehicle fled the scene prior to the arrival of First Responders. Witnesses reported the vehicle was possibly a small silver SUV that was last seen fleeing Southbound on Crain Highway.

Based on the evidence collected from the scene, police advised the vehicle was possibly a black Hyundai Santa Fe SUV that had visible damage to the front wheel well and possibly the front bumper and side fender.

Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 7 responded, however, they were cancelled before their arrival.

Emergency medical personnel transported the victim by ground to an area trauma center with serious injuries, the victim was reported to be in stable condition.
