Marian Theresa (Jones) Edwards, 78

March 16, 2021

Marian Theresa (Jones) Edwards, 78, of Fort Washington, Maryland lost her battle with life on March 4, 2021. Affectionately known as Theresa to family and friends, she was the eldest daughter of the late Edgar and Marie Jones. Theresa came into this life on December 30, 1942. She was baptized into the Catholic faith and educated throughout the public schools in St. Mary’s County. She graduated from Banneker High School.

Theresa started her working career at the Department of Transportation until she found her passion, selling real estate. Her last place of employment was Long and Foster. She also worked at Century 21.

Theresa loved to hand dance. She was in a card club for 20 years with her sisters and cousins, playing tonk. She and her husband also played bid whist. She was an avid bowler and played on various bowling leagues placing first in local competitions. In her spare time, she would play chess at the local Starbucks in Forestville, MD, almost always winning against her opponent(s). Theresa loved spending time with family and friends. Theresa was always considered the life of the party. At the Rehabilitation Center there was a party on the 3rd floor. One of her friends at the facility stopped by her room to see if she could accompany her to the party. She wanted some red lipstick. Even while trying to get well, she still wanted to look presentable. (No one had the red lipstick).

Theresa met and later married the late Lincoln Edwards in 1983. They were together for 37 years until his death in October 2020.

Theresa is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lincoln; her only son, Eric; brothers, James and Francis Jones, and sisters, Marie Carol Jones and Joan Frazier.
