William “Bill” H. Meck Jr., of Clinton, Maryland, passed away on December 17, 2020.
He is survived by Mary L.; his son, William H Meck III; daughters, Patricia Herrell and Alida (Sean) Bevill; grandchildren, Crystal Fisher, Jessica McGirt, Graham Bevill, Beau Bevill, Sawyer Bevill, Brooke Bevill and many nieces and nephews.
He spent his 93 years being a good, honest, hardworking man who loved his family above all else. Bill was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. He served two tours in Vietnam and served as the Military Police for 28 years. Later in life, he and his wife Gerti would travel all over the United States attending reunions for 796 MP.
He loved fishing, watching the Redskins, yard work and pretty much anything that could keep his mind and hands busy. He never met a stranger and could engage anyone with a story of the good ole days. He lived through a lot, he passed on as much knowledge and as many lessons on as he could and now, he’s resting peacefully with his beloved wife of 65 years Gertrude Rosa Meck, his sisters Dorothy, Joan, Elizabeth “Betty” and Mary, his parents and many, many friends.
