On Saturday, August 27, 2022, at approximately 5:45 p.m., police and emergency medical personnel responded to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office District 4 Office located at 21633 Great Mills Road in Lexington Park, for the reported injuries from an assault.
Crews arrived on the scene to find an adult male with serious injuries to the head after reportedly being struck by a suspect with a shovel.
Emergency medical personnel requested a helicopter due to the seriousness of the victims injuries.
Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 7 transported the victim to an area trauma center.
Deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the assault.
