On Sunday, February 19, 2023 at approximately 11:25 a.m., police, fire and rescue personnel responded to the area of Wilkerson Road and Ladysmith Court in Brandywine, for the serious motor vehicle collision with entrapment.
Crews arrived on the scene to find a UPS truck off the roadway and into a tree with the adult female operator trapped.
Firefighters extricated the victim in under 20 minutes.
Upon extrication, emergency medical personnel requested a helicopter due to the woman’s injuries.
Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 2 landed nearby and transported the 32-year-old female victim to an area trauma center with serious injuries that were reported as non-life-threatening. Flight medics were advised the victim was conscious and alert.
Police are investigating the collision.
