VIDEO: Daycare Worker Fired and Arrested After Recording Herself Abusing and Assaulting Children

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Child and Vulnerable Adult Abuse Unit arrested and charged an employee for abusing children in her care at a daycare center in Oxon Hill. The suspect is Kayla Shevon Greenwell age 23 of Oxon Hill, Maryland.

On April 7, 2023, the PGPD received multiple videos showing the suspect assaulting children at the center.

Investigators immediately responded to the business in the 6000 block of Oxon Hill Road. Detectives gathered evidence, identified the suspect and ultimately obtained an arrest warrant.

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect recorded herself abusing the children on her cell phone on April 5, 2023. Greenwell began her employment at the center in late March.


Greenwell is being held on a no bond status and has been charged with charged with two counts of CHILD ABUSE: 2ND DEG -CUST, and two counts of Assault second degree.

The video is graphic and shows the suspect physically abusing multiple children including kicking and throwing them. We have blurred all faces in the videos posted to Greenwell’s now deactivated social media accounts.

Greenwell has a bail/bond review on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 1:15 p.m., in Upper Marlboro, Prince George’s District Court in Courtroom 261.
