UPDATE 5/30/2023: This afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF), which includes PGPD officers, located and took into custody the 15-year-old male who is charged with the attempted murder of another teenager on a school bus. The suspect goes by the name “Baby K”. He’s charged as an adult in this case.
At approximately 2:40 pm, through investigative means, CARFTF members located the suspect in the 6300 block of Baltimore Avenue in the Riverdale Park area. He was taken into custody without incident.
The two other juvenile suspects who committed the attempted murder on the bus are also in custody. A juvenile female is also charged with conspiracy in connection with the case.
Sources close to the active investigations have connected the 15-year-old “Baby K” to a murder in Washington D.C.
The victim, identified as 23-year-old Kaijah McCoy, is the older sister of one the defendants in the bus incident.
McCoy was shot and killed on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in the 3700 block of Jamison Street, NE. Which is two days after the bus incident in Prince George’s County.
“Baby K” is charged as an adult with attempted first degree murder, attempted second degree murder, assault, firearms offenses and additional charges.

UPDATE 5/24/2023: The Prince George’s County Police Department, along with the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF), are seeking the public’s assistance in finding the teenager who attempted to murder another teenager on a school bus earlier this month.
The suspect is a 15-year-old male who goes by the name “Baby K”. He’s charged as an adult in this case.
On May 1, 2023, at approximately 4:55 p.m., officers responded to the report of an assault that occurred on a school bus. The bus had just stopped at Iverson Street and Sutler Drive to drop off students.
While stopped, three suspects boarded the bus and began to attack the victim who remained on the bus.
One of the suspects, later identified as “Baby K”, displayed a handgun and attempted to shoot the victim multiple times but detectives believe the weapon malfunctioned. Ammunition was recovered from the bus.
The victim suffered minor injuries during the assault and the preliminary investigation revealed the suspects and victim were known to each other. Preliminarily, the attempted murder stemmed from a dispute.
Three of the four suspects wanted in this investigation are in custody.
The suspects are a 14-year-old male from Suitland, a 15-year-old male from Temple Hills, and a 14-year-old female from Oxon Hill. They are charged as adults.
“Baby K” is charged as an adult with attempted first degree murder, attempted second degree murder, assault, firearms offenses and additional charges.
Prince George’s County Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest and indictment. The U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force is offering a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of “Baby K”.

5/4/2023: The Division IV – Oxon Hill Investigative Unit today released surveillance images of the three suspects wanted in connection with an assault on a school bus in Oxon Hill Monday.
The suspects are believed to be juveniles and at least one was armed with a handgun. A cash reward is being offered in connection to this case.
On Monday, May 1, 2023, at approximately 4:55 p.m., officers responded to the report of an assault that occurred on a school bus.
The bus had just stopped at Iverson Street and Sutler Drive to drop off students.
While stopped, three masked suspects boarded the bus and began to attack the victim who remained on the bus. The victim is a 14-year-old juvenile male.
One of the suspects displayed a handgun, pointed it at the victims head and attempted to shoot the victim three times, detectives believe the weapon malfunctioned.
Three live handgun ammunition rounds were recovered from the bus.
The victim suffered minor injuries during the assault. Two adults, a bus driver and bus aide, were on or near the bus at the time. They were not injured.
The motive for the assault is under investigation.
