Arlene Elizabeth (Goldsmith) Alvey, age 65, of Hollywood, MD, gracefully departed this life on October 10, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 18, 1958, the daughter of James Townley Goldsmith and Marion (Penn) Goldsmith.
Arlene married the love of her life Thomas Alvey (Tom Cat) on June 18, 1976.
Arlene’s legacy will live on through her beloved survivors, her loving husband of 47 years, Thomas Alvey (Tom Cat), and their daughter, Christine Alvey, and her treasured grandchildren Brittany King and Devin King. Also, one great-grandchild, Phoenix Thomas.
Her memory is further enriched by those who predeceased her, her parents, Townley & Marion Goldsmith, and her only brother, James Townley Goldsmith Jr.
Arlene worked on a tobacco farm for many years, cleaned houses, and worked for Dash-In for 7 years. In 1993 she found her calling working at Muddy Creek Animal Hospital. She loved the animals and customers. She loved country music, her flower garden, fishing, and reading romance novels but most of all she loved taking care of her family.
The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD. A funeral service will be the following day, Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Ray Stinnett, Greg Smith, Tim King, Tony Oliver, Devin King, Mikey Wathen, Brandon Wathen, and Troy Wathen. Honorary Pallbearers are Duck McCandless and her husband, Thomas Alvey.
