Michael Patrick Mills, 63 of California, MD passed away on October 12, 2023 at his home with his wife and daughters by his side.
He was born on April 1, 1960 in Olney, MD to James Aloysius Mills and Betty Lee Coffman Mills.
Mike was one of the most genuine people and had a true love of life. Above all else, he was a family man and his faith in God was ever present. Mike was one of a kind and will always be remembered for his ability to make people laugh and make a positive impact in the lives of others. He was active in coaching his daughters, especially in softball, and found joy in helping others. He will forever be remembered as a legend and his legacy will be carried on by his family and friends.
Michael is a 1978 graduate of Damascus High School and a graduate of Montgomery College, earning an Associate’s degree in business management. On August 14th, 1982, he married his beloved wife, Mary Melissa Mills, at St. Mary’s Church in Barnesville, Md. Together they celebrated 41 wonderful years of marriage. He was employed as the Facilities Manager at Hewlett Packard.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughters, Tiffany Ann Mills (Rob) of Virginia Beach, VA, Lauren(Lolli) Melissa Mills(Darren) of Hollywood, MD, Kelsey Lynn Wilkerson (Christopher) of Waldorf, MD and bonus son Jonathan Dwyer (Carey) of Silver Spring, MD; siblings, James Aloysius Mills, Jr of Hebron, MD, Pamela Bradford and husband David of Hebron, MD, Thomas O. Mills, Esq. of Frederick, MD, Christopher E. Mills and wife Diana of Delmar, MD and Samantha Mills of Hebron, MD. Michael also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and eight grandchildren; Kamryn, Jayden, Paige, Emma, Jack, Vera, Tyus and Quincy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Patricia Berard.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Reverend Ryan Braam at 11:00 a.m., at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church, 43950 Saint Johns Road, Hollywood, MD 20636. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, 38888 Doctor Johnson Road, Mechanicsville, MD 20659. Celebration of Life will take place after the services at 26835 Three Notch Rd, Mechanicsville, Md 20659
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Michael’s name to Johns Hopkins Neurology.
