Deborah Able Summers, of Hughesville, MD, peacefully passed away on October 18, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 65 years old.
Deborah was born on July 6, 1958, in Washington, DC to Albert G. Able and Barbara M. Rhodes. In 1975 she met the love of her life James (Jay) Summers, and they were married on April 14, 1978, they would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary this year. Together they had three children who they adored Amber Summers-Keller (John) of Martinsburg, WV, Alexandria Summers-Roberts (John Paul) of Charlotte Hall, MD, and Austin Summers of Hughesville, MD.
Deborah dedicated her life to her husband and children. She and her husband owned and operated Coyote Towing and Recovery for several years.
Debbie had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing. She performed several times at the Old Stardust Hotel. She enjoyed playing bingo, pulling slots, cooking, and baking, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family & friends but most importantly was the time she spent with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her baking and her Infamous Chocolate Chip Cookies which will be missed by all. Debbie was a kind and loving person, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her generous spirit and warm personality made her a joy to be around, and she had a way of always making everyone feel welcome and appreciated.
Whether she was hosting a gathering or simply chatting with a friend, Debbie’s infectious smile and positive attitude brightened the lives of those around her. If you had the pleasure of knowing Debbie, you will always remember her for always wanting to have FUN, no matter what she was doing. Her passing is a great loss to all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness and compassion.
Debbie was predeceased by her husband, her parents, and her brother Gary Able. She is survived by her children, grandchildren Shellbie Summers, Marley Miller, Raegan Roberts, John Paul Roberts IV and sisters Laurie Connolly of Hollywood, MD, Angela Able-Sanford (Chuck) of Hollywood, MD, and Catherine Therres (Chris) of Hughesville, MD; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
