Michael Wayne Buckler Sr., age 71, of Charlotte Hall, MD, passed away on March 14, 2025. He was born on December 10, 1953, to Leroy Raymond Buckler Sr. and Gwynette Catherine Buckler (Moran).
On October 6, 1973, Mike married the love of his life, Joyce Gail Buckler. They raised two sons: Mike W. Buckler Jr. and Brian A. Buckler.
Mike had a strong work ethic and spent many years as an equipment operator at the Mirant Power Plant. His dedication to his craft and his colleagues was well known. Outside of work, Michael had a zest for life and enjoyed a wide range of activities. He had a true passion for the outdoors—boating, racing, crabbing, and even riding motorcycles in his younger days. Mike was also known for his love of camping and cooking on the grill, often bringing people together over a meal.
Mike is preceded in death by his two sons and his brother Leroy R. Buckler. Mike is survived by his wife Joyce and his beloved grandson, Michael Wayne Buckler III.
He found peace and joy in the simple pleasures of life, and his warm, welcoming spirit will be missed by all who knew him. Michael was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather, and he leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories. His love for his family and his joy for life will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation taking place Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 30195 Three Notch Road in Charlotte Hall, Maryland. Prayers will follow at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at the same location at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Following the funeral service, Mike will be interred at Trinity Memorial Gardens, located at 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road in Waldorf, Maryland.
