Three Vehicles Destroyed After New Years Day Fire in Lusby, No Injuries Reported

On January 1, 2026, at approximately 5:35 p.m., firefighters from the Solomons Volunteer Fire Department and surrounding departments from Calvert and St. Mary’s County responded to 11500 block of Senora Lane in Lusby, for the reported vehicle fire threatening a residence.

Crews arrived on the scene to find three vehicles fully engulfed in flames in the driveway of the residence.

Firefighters extinguished all three vehicles within 20 minutes and reported no extensions to the residence.

Unit operated on the scene for approximately 45 minutes before returning to service.

No injuries were reported and the cause was deemed accidental, started by a controlled burn which quickly spread to the vehicles.
