On Sunday, March 29, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., firefighters from Waldorf responded to 3405 Mill Hill Road in Waldorf, for the reported brush fire.
Crews quickly arrived on the scene to find a large brush fire involving multiple piles of debris, two 18-wheelers, tires and multiple sheds.
The incident was upgraded which brought firefighters from Waldorf, La Plata, Hughesville, Mechanicsville, Tenth District, Potomac Heights, Newburg, Nanjemoy, along with Maryland Forestry responded to assist.
Forestry responded with heavy equipment and bulldozers to assist with the large piles of debris on fire.
Firefighters operated on the scene for over 2 and a half hours. No injuries were reported.
On Sunday, March 29, 2026, at approximately 3:15 p.m., firefighters from Newburg responded to the 5300 block of Robert Lee Place in Pomfret, for the reported large brush fire.
The 911 caller reported he was burning trash and the fire got away from him.
Crews arrived on the scene to find an approximate 30×50 fire threatening a shed.
Firefighters quickly contained the fire within 20 minutes and operated on the scene for over an hour.
On Sunday, March 29, 2026, at approximately 4:00 p.m., firefighters from Seventh District VFD responded to the 38000 block of Collins Road in Avenue, for the reported small brush fire involving woods/trees.
Crews arrived on the scene to find multiple brush fires, with one actively spreading and threatening a residence.
The incident was upgraded to a brush fire threatening a structure, which alerted additional firefighters from Seventh District, Mechanicsville, Leonardtown, and Hollywood to the scene.
The fires were contained and placed under control within 30 minutes, with crews operating on scene for over an hour.
While operating on this incident, crews were dispatched at 5:23 p.m., to the 24000 block of Horse Shoe Road in Clements, for the reported garage and woods on fire.
Crews arrived on this scene to find a camper fully engulfed, with a 200 x 200 woods fire and requested the Brush Fire Task Force, which alerted firefighters from Seventh District, Mechanicsville, Hollywood, Bay District, Leonardtown, Solomons, and Charles County.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal was requested to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
No injuries were reported in any of the four incidents.
