On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at approximately 6:23 p.m., police, firefighters and emergency medical services responded to the intersection of Crain Highway and Mattawoman Drive in Waldorf, for the reported motor vehicle collision with injuries.
Crews arrived on the scene to find a two vehicle T-bone style collision involving a marked Maryland State Police cruiser.
Emergency medical services transported a 39-year-old female, and a 29-year-old female to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
The traffic collision remains under investigation.
This is the third motor vehicle collision involving police in the past three days. A SMCSO Deputy rear-ended a SUV in California resulting in multiple injured. This morning, a State Trooper was struck by a METCOM vehicle resulting in the Trooper being flown to a trauma center.
