No Injures Reported, Firefighters Quickly Locate and Extinguish Fire in Pomfret House

On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at approximately 3:30 p.m., firefighters and emergency medical services were dispatched to the 7400 block of Marshall Corner Road in Pomfret, for the reported structure fire.

The 911 caller advised the residence was full of smoke with the paint of the interior wall bubbling.

Crews arrived on the scene to find a two-story residence on a crawl space with nothing evident from all sides, and confirmed the single occupant was out of the structure.

Firefighters made entry to find fire in the walls with extensions into the crawlspace.

The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes, and no injuries were reported.

The 2 adults and 1 child denied Red Cross. The Maryland State Fire Marshal was contacted.
