Brunsie Thomas Carrington Jr., 18, of Lusby, is facing multiple misdemeanor charges including illegal possession of ammunition and malicious destruction of property valued under $1,000, according to court documents.

The charges stem from an incident on April 9, 2026, when members of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit and Special Operations Team executed a search warrant at a residence on Calvert Towne Drive in Prince Frederick. According to charging documents, the investigation began earlier in 2026 after authorities received information that Carrington was allegedly in possession of a firearm despite being prohibited.

Court records state that at approximately 4:57 p.m., officers entered the residence and observed Carrington coming from the top floor before taking him into custody. A search of the home later revealed multiple types of ammunition in a bedroom believed to be associated with him, including approximately 150 rounds of .22 caliber bullets, additional .22 caliber rounds in a box, a box containing 25 12-gauge shotgun shells, and a separate .40 caliber bullet found in a nightstand.

Authorities also noted that the bedroom contained only men’s clothing, and additional items, including cell phones, were recovered during the search. Investigators later confirmed through the Maryland State Police Gun Center that Carrington was prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition due to a prior conviction, according to court documents.

Following his arrest, Carrington was transported to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau for questioning. While in an interview room, he allegedly became agitated, pacing and kicking the door while yelling profanities. According to the statement of probable cause, Carrington then picked up a table and slammed it into the wall multiple times, causing damage.

During the incident, Carrington reportedly stated, “Oh I’m going to jail,” and had earlier said he was going to “crash out,” according to investigators.
Authorities said the damage was done to property belonging to the Calvert County Government. After being advised of his rights, Carrington requested an attorney, and the interview was ended.

A second search warrant was later executed at Pinecrest Court in Lusby, where additional ammunition, including a .40 caliber bullet, was located, according to court filings.

Carrington appeared for a bail review hearing on April 10, 2026, in Calvert District Court. Court records show he was initially held without bond before being released on his own recognizance.
