On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at approximately 6:00 a.m., police, firefighters and emergency medical services responded to the area of Maddox Road and Annie’s Lane in Chaptico, for the serious motor vehicle collision with injuries and entrapment.
Crews arrived on the scene to find a single vehicle off the roadway and into a utility pole, with the adult female still inside the vehicle but not trapped.
A helicopter was requested to land nearby due to patient possibly suffering from a medical emergency and was not alert.
Firefighters removed the patient from the vehicle within minutes of their arrival and placed her into the care of EMS.
Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 2 landed nearby and transported the patient to the MedStar Washington Hospital Center with serious injuries.
