On Friday, May 1, 2026, at approximately 7:33 a.m., police, firefighters and emergency medical services were dispatched to the Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort located at 4165 Mears Avenue in Chesapeake Beach, for the reported bomb threat.
The 911 caller, a male, advised he placed multiple bombs around the building and they will blow up in 20 minutes.
Firefighters, emergency medical services, along with HAZMAT and police from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office and Prince George’s County are responding.
Troopers from the Maryland State Police Prince Frederick Barrack, and Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal, along with K9 teams are also responding.
Avoid the area and expected multiple road closures and extended delays.
